The hotel is on the lake with access straight onto the path that goes around the whole lake. A perfect distance for a walk or run around as you can do the whole lake (approx 5 miles) or just half (approx 2.5 miles) if you head across the bridge. We had a room with a lake view, which is a must, it was wonderful to sit on the balcony and look over the lake. The shower was great and the bed was super comfortable, we slept very well all week. The spa is great and open from 6.30am - 10.30pm, we used it each night at 8pm and had it to ourselves. There is a small sauna and steam room, both only take a short time to start up if they haven’t been used for a while with clear instructions on how to use them. The pool is a really good size and a great temperature. There were always plenty of clean towels for use. The hotel was perfectly located for us, being very central to the places we wanted to explore, Vannes, Auray, Quimper, Quiberon (Plage de Lizeau is a gorgeous dog friendly beach), Pont Aven and Concarneau. The hotel is incredibly dog friendly, our cocker spaniel was really comfortable there and there was a little treat and dog bowl for our arrival. There was a little fridge in the room which was handy for cold drinks / milk for coffee. Staff were all incredible helpful and kind. Fyi - the Intermarché over the bridge is nicer than the Leclerc! We didn’t use the restaurant or have breakfast so can’t comment on that.

Situated by the lake, this pleasant and comfortable hotel suited my needs for my stay in the area. I did a lot of driving around Brittany area, and it was nice to park the car with ease here in a well-sized private car park. Without wishing to seem unkind, the city of Lorient itself isn’t that much to shout about - little of note remains from its pre-war days; I spent most of my time driving around the local countryside and discovered some lovely little villages (such as Plœur, inland and Le Courégant by the sea) all unspoilt by virtue of being just that little bit off the beaten track. I had dinner one night at Rooftop La Base, a half hour’s stroll from Rives du Ter, with very friendly staff and great views over the surrounding docks and beyond - excellent value, too. I also ate in the hotel restaurant a couple of times, not bad value either with nice spelt risotto and particularly delightful white chocolate panacotta for afters… mmmmmh. I really enjoyed my few days here; staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I also appreciated the swimming pool and garden area for relaxation.

Comfort, comfort and comfort (after 4 weeks in a hut in the Gironde!). Seriously tho, very clean, pleasant room, friendly and helpful staff (English spoken too). Varied breakfast which took the ‘petit’ out of petit dejeuner. Quiet, lakeside location, with lots of car parking and somewhere to put a bicycle. Most French visitors were in stylish ‘smart casual’ - a pleasant change from scruff city.

Andrew

Clean white linen and a quiet room with blockout curtains makes for a good nights sleep. Dinner on Friday was the barbeque and so delicious! Surf and turf was served in the form of succulent beef and a variety of seafood dishes. Breakfast has a huge variety of bread, cheeses and full english breakfast. Ample parking setting is beautiful with a lakeview.

Louise

Quiet location on the lakeside, incredible setting given proximity to main roads and busy urban surroundings. A real haven. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Superb staff friendly and attentive. Excellent room and bathroom. Superb food, wonderful breakfast. Prices on the high side but you get what you pay for.
